“I would recommend him and his staff to all my family and friends!”
Three weeks ago I came to Dr. Ashcraft’s office to get an eye exam: the best experience I’ve ever had in my entire life! I’ve had Kaiser for several years and the exam that I had here at Dr. Ashcraft’s was really great. Everything was explained thoroughly to where I understood exactly what was going on. I would recommend him and his staff to all my family and friends! -Rainell G.
Contact lens expert
I used to use some old Acuvue contact lenses and I eventually came to Dr Ashcraft for itchy eyes/dry eyes and he switched me to the “daily”s and I absolutely love them! This is definitely the way to go–you can leave them in until the last minute, pop them out… they’re light, air gets through them, and they don’t itch. They are so incredibly simple. I can’t even begin to tell you how much it has made my life easier. They are definitely the way to go! -Tara R.
“The best decision I’ve ever made.”
I just got LASIK surgery about a week and a half ago. I was very near sighted. I couldn’t see 5 feet in front of me… my eyes were really blurry (very nearsighted). So I decided to get LASIK and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I was very nervous and very apprehensive going into it (because it is surgery on your eyes and you only get two eyes). I went in, everything went well, it was practically painless and now I can see perfectly. It was the best decision I ever made, so I recommend it to everyone. -Sara G.
“For 20 years I’ve been very happy and I see as good as ever!”
I’ve been coming to see Dr. Ashcraft for eyecare for about 20 years. I’ve been very happy in coming here! I originally came here to get soft contact lenses, but after talking with Dr. Ashcraft, he mentioned that the best thing in my case is probably to go with the rigid gas permeable lenses because they would hold my eyes to the correct shape and over the long run my vision wouldn’t deteriorate as much. And it seems like that is what has happened. THere have been times when I have come in after several years to check my vision, there was very little change and so we continued with the same prescription. Well, when it got the point where I needed to make a little adjustment to the reading magnification that I needed or my distant vision, we made that change. I’ve been very happy with the gas permeable lenses. I also go surfing a lot and they recommended that I use a daily disposable soft lens for that. I’ve been really happy with the care I get here. I feel that not only are my needs met for the short term but also for the long term. For 20 years I’ve been very happy and I see as good as ever! -Alan B.
I’ve been coming to the Family Eye Care for over 20 years. I was having some problems with dry eye and wearing soft contact lenses. It was working okay, but then I did have an infection in the cornea of my left eye, so I could not wear contact lenses for 3 months… which was very challenging for me, in that I’ve been wearing contact lenses for so many years. After 3 months time, when I could wear contact lenses again I asked Dr. Ashcraft if there was anything available that would give me the comfort and the vision correction of the old gas permeable lenses–I really enjoyed wearing those! He told me about SynergEyes contact lenses, in that they were brand new, but it was worth trying because it had the vision correction of the gas permeable lenses but the comfort of the soft lenses. So we tried it, and I have now been wearing them for about 2 years. I really enjoy getting the 2 pair of lenses (I wear them for 6 months) and only making 1 purchase per year. It gives me the great vision correction but with more of the comfort from the soft lenses. I would really recommend the SynergEyes lenses if those are objectives that you want to achieve. They are really very convenient and they are really comfortable to wear. I have really enjoyed wearing them for the last two years. -Lynn E.
“My problems have gone away”
About a year ago, Dr. Ashcraft recommended a pair of glasses, a particular prescription that has a progressive lens in it for computer usage. I was explaining to him that my eyes get very tired looking at my particular images and software programs (I use photoshop and all the Adobe products). Because I have thousands of images that I want to archive and create DVDs, etc. I was getting eye strain because I couldn’t use my long lenses with the small fonts and resolution that I had. And I couldn’t use the short lenses because I had to sit too close, so nothing was comfortable for me! He put together a lens for me that is progressive, particularly for the distance between my face and the computer that I chose. This is something that you have to spend time with to make sure to get that right distance. Ever since using these my problems have gone away. I still limit myself to about 2 hours or so on a computer, but while I’m using it for those 2 hours I have no problems. I would recommend these to anyone who has eye problems or fatigure, wrestling with these high resolution images that you get off of cameras. -Bill E.
“All the difference in the world!”
I was having some difficulty with my work because I work with a computer screen and I look at papers on my desk, and I wasn’t able to read what was on my desk. So Dr. Ashcraft suggested that I have both computer glasses and driving glasses. The computer glasses were set up for not as much distance, but had a progressive lens to look at the desk and the computer. They have made all the difference in the world! I can see the computer and I can see the papers on my desk without squinting and without shifting my glasses around. I just really like them and am very happy with them! -Pat I.
